family_child_book_252.jpgMoms and dads who work to raise their children intentionally know enough, care enough and do enough to build into their children’s lives. They strive to raise children who are healthy and contented, who ultimately become responsible adults.

These parents understand that the Four Laws of Intentional Living do make a difference for their children.

#1 The Law of Accumulation
Your children become the accumulation of all that you do as their parent plus their interpretation of what you do.

#2 The Law of Responsibility
We are 100% responsible for what we think, feel and do—blaming others is a path to failure. We teach children to be responsible when we hold them accountable and hold ourselves accountable. If we want our children to be responsible, we first must be responsible ourselves.

#3 The Law of Perseverance
Perseverance is the ultimate act of love from a parent to their child. Other people will give up on your children, but an intentional parent never does. Even a rebellious child can change.

#4 The Law of the Next Right One Thing
Your child will become the accumulation of the One Things they do in their lives. Intentional parenting is simply building one intentional act of love upon another and that’s what makes all the difference.

Effective and intentional parenting cannot be accomplished by entertaining children, going on family vacations and buying Christmas gifts.

I encourage you to consider how these four laws relate to where you are as a parent today. Read 1 Corinthians 1:13. What did you notice in this chapter that you hadn’t seen before as it relates to parenting?

As you look at each of these four laws, you may choose to study them further through our Parenting Challenge video series. It will help you better understand how to be the intentional parent your son or daughter needs.
