Bluesy Attitude?

It’s All in Your Perception

A study once found that people told in advance that Monday was going to be bad actually believed it mentally, even when it wasn’t true in reality.

Amazing, isn’t it? Yet it just shows that your attitude has a huge impact on how you perceive life. Unsuccessful people always seem able to find something wrong, even in good times – while those who are successful press forward with a grateful attitude, even when things are going wrong.

How you choose to think will not only affect what you expect from life; it will impact what you do in life. Two keys you can do to ensure your perception, and consequently your emotions, stay positive:

1. Count Your Blessings

Simply put, be thankful. Think about things that have occurred that you’re grateful for: healthy children, an intact marriage, a place to live. Don’t take your blessings for granted. A great idea is to create a “Praises and Blessings” list and review it regularly with your family.

2. Seek First His Kingdom

Having a spiritual routine that involves reading Scripture, praying individually and together as a family, and meditating on the goodness of God is an absolute must.

As you strengthen your relationship with the Lord – every day, without fail – you will fill your mind with His promises and truths, giving you a joyful outlook, even on Monday.

Tell Us

What are you thankful for today? What is your spiritual routine? We'd love to hear from you. Post your comments below.
