What in the World is a Radical Steward (and why would I want to be one?)

hammer_bank_252x252.jpgIf you’re like me, the word “stewardship” conjures up images of fundraising, church offerings and sermons most people would rather skip in favor of an extra hour of sleep. But in the Bible stewardship simply means taking good care of God’s stuff. And let’s face it, it’s all God’s stuff.

To be honest with you, I don’t have this stewardship thing all figured out. And I’m certainly not the best steward of God’s stuff I know. But I do want to learn how to intentionally move toward better stewardship. Why?  Well, think of the impact you and I could make on the world if we made a habit of being the radical stewards God wants us to be.  So here’s the deal. How about we take a moment once or twice a week for just a minute or two here on the Intentional Living blog and together see what we can learn about stewardship.  I’ll share some stories of people whose lives have been transformed by radical stewardship, dig out some nuggets for us from God’s Word, and even let you know when I come across some money-saving tips.  Together we’ll both learn some great principles about how God wants us to take care of the treasures he’s entrusted us with.  And just maybe we can be more intentional about changing the world…one life, one treasure at a time.

What is one thing you or your family are doing to steward the money and possessions God has entrusted you with?
